Pictures of the day!

My second day of testing my new dslr camera, the Canon 600d. I am still not fit enough to go back to training properly yet, so i use my time to get some good shots in the training sessions to get used to the camera.

In this picture Padang is holding the pads for Monty in a private lesson.

As you can see Padang is not going easy on Monty and hits to the body, while the opponent is down are a daily routine to get him prepared for his next fight.

Padang and Monty having a little break before going back to business.

The respect for the trainers is very important in Muay Thai, cause without your trainers there would be no knowledge, so be humble and absorb everything like a sponge.

After a hard training everything is back to normal, no hard feelings!

I hope you enjoyed todays pictures! Lights Out!

The journey began 3 weeks ago.....

Eric and Ton between technique and break....

The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called "truth."  ~Dan Rather

You know the saying it's not you who chooses your friends, your friends choose you. Well i think you could say the same for teacher and student.

In my first class on monday morning, which starts at the ungratefull time of 7am, Ton chose me to be his student by simply pulling me aside, showing me some techniques and at any time having a smile on his face. Right afterwards i knew he is going to be my trainer for the next months and i immediately booked my first 10 lessons with him.

The first 2 weeks basicly consisted of painfull stretching, conditioning and technique training. I was feeling great, it felt easy to learn the technique and the combinations and i made a huge progress in my first 2 weeks according to some very nice friends that i learned to love very quickly. But the faster the ascend the faster the fall. Being able to train 2 sessions a day for 2 weeks in a row from monday to saturday i soon had to realise that injuries and exhaustion will take a huge part in my Muay Thai journey. Spending hundreds of baht in the pharmacy i could train for 4 days the following week, but as expected new injuries took its toll on me.

So we are currently in my 4th week of training, which not very suprisingly doesn't consist of training. New and old injuries just wont heal, but its ok. My friend Michael from Canberra, Australia suggested i should buy a camera and document my story and write a blog. I found that to be a very good idea, and the fact that i get excited very easy did help a lot aswell.. so say hello to my brand new Canon 600D. I took her for a ride already and was fortunate enough to get some great shots. Check them out on my Facebook Page.

And to top things off for my first post i would like you to check out my first clip i managed to produce today.

Thats it for my first post, i hope you enjoyed the read, see you soon. Baba take care!
